Devastating Flood Creates Largest Insurance Liability in Nepal

Kathmandu. The devastating flood that occurred in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers on the 10th of Bhadra has devastated the geography from Rasuwa to Nuwakot and Dhading. Even on the 10th day after the flood, the search and rescue operations for the missing are ongoing. So far, more than 13,000 people have been rescued.

5,083 people affected by the flood are still missing. 1,287 people have died. The flood has left thousands of people homeless and caused damage to physical infrastructure worth billions.
