Chitwan Reports 521 Online Fraud Cases, Rs 122.2 Million Lost

Chitwan. 521 applications for online fraud have been registered in the district. According to those applications, Rs 12 crore 22 lakh 84 thousand 338 have been defrauded through online means in the last financial year.

According to the Chief of the District Police Office, Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Poudel, Rs 2 crore 29 lakh 98 thousand 643 has been returned from the defrauded amount. He said that recently, fraud is being committed through online marketing and by sending links through social media. He also informed that fraud has been committed by pretending to give gifts. According to him, applications for fraud are being received daily. He informed that complaints of fraud ranging from a normal Rs 200 to lakhs have been received.
