Nepali Tea Exports Resume After India Eases Testing Rules

Kathmandu. Nepali tea exports had been halted for India for the past 19 days in the name of testing. The knot in the export of Nepali tea has been untied with the Indian Tea Board issuing a new notice (Corrigendum-2) on Tuesday (May 19) and making changes to the mandatory quality testing provision.

Following India's implementation of the rule from May 1 that all Nepali tea must be mandatorily tested at all its entry points and goods cannot be moved forward until the report is received, Nepali tea had been stranded.
