1,304 Bodies Managed After Bhote Koshi Flood

Kathmandu. After the Bhote Koshi flood, 1,304 out of 1,344 bodies found have been managed safely underground. The police have stated that DNA samples have been collected for identification of the bodies found, and so far, 222 women, 355 men, and 453 unidentified bodies in a sensitive condition have been managed.

Central Police Spokesperson Abinaraayan Kafle informed that 1,260 DNA samples of the deceased and 1,012 DNA samples of relatives have been collected for body identification. According to him, after collecting DNA and other necessary details, the bodies have been safely managed underground in accordance with the 'Directive on Management of Unidentified and Unclaimed Bodies (First Amendment), 2083'.
