Rasauwa Police Urge DNA Testing for Flood Victims

Rasauwa. The District Police Office, Rasauwa has urged for DNA testing to identify the bodies or body parts of Nepali and foreign citizens who went missing due to the flood in the Bhote Koshi river on Bhadra 10. The police have issued a notice requesting those who wish to confirm the bodies or body parts of their missing relatives to come forward for DNA sample collection. For the test, one of the closest blood relatives, such as the father, mother, son, or daughter, must be present. In the absence of these individuals, a sibling (brother or sister) can provide a sample by contacting Rasauwa Hospital, Dhunche, or the District Police Office, Dhunche, Rasauwa. Fresh blood will be collected for the sample. For individuals residing abroad, one of their parents, son, or daughter should prepare a DNA profile abroad and send a soft copy to the official email of Nepal Police, [email protected] , for comparison, the police have requested. For DNA testing, proof of relationship (if possible, between the missing person and the person providing the sample), 2 passport-sized photos, and identification documents (copy of citizenship, national identity card, or passport) will be required.
