Gas Supply Disrupted in Kathmandu Valley Due to Road Blockage

Kathmandu. The direct impact of natural disasters and weak infrastructure on the common citizen's kitchen is vividly exemplified by the current gas supply situation in the Kathmandu Valley. The severe flood in the Trishuli River in the Krishnabhir area of the Prithvi Highway has obstructed the road, directly affecting fuel supply. Consequently, gas industrialists, citing increased transportation costs, have decided to charge an additional fee of Rs 105.38 per cylinder, causing hardship to consumers. Since Thursday, the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has already increased prices, citing higher transportation costs, further burdening consumers already in crisis. Gas, which previously cost Rs 2010 per cylinder, is now being sold for Rs 2165.38, and is still not readily available everywhere.
