Election Commission Suggests Non-Party Local Elections Amid Constitutional Amendment

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has suggested making local level elections non-party in case of constitutional amendment.

The commission gave this suggestion to the constitutional amendment task force led by Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah's political advisor Ashim Shah to make it non-party in case of constitutional amendment. In point number 13 of the commission's 21-point suggestions, it has suggested amending the constitutional provision related to local executive to make it non-party.
