Apple Exports Disrupted by Landslides on Karnali Highway

Karnali. The 'peak season' for exporting apples produced in Jumla, Mugu, and Humla is currently underway. Dozens of vehicles laden with apples are reaching major cities across the country daily, including Surkhet, Nepalgunj, Butwal, Chitwan, Pokhara, Kathmandu, and Birgunj.

Due to continuous rainfall, landslides have occurred at various locations along the Jumla-Kaliskot-Dailekh section of the Karnali Highway, completely obstructing vehicular movement. Vehicles carrying apples have been stranded on the road for the past three days.
