Government Suspends New Public Vehicle Registration Until Further Notice

Kathmandu. The government has temporarily suspended the registration of new vehicles in the public transportation sector across the country. The decision came to light after the Department of Transport Management issued a circular to all seven provincial governments and local levels directing them to halt registrations until further notice.

The department has instructed provincial ministries and local authorities not to register new public transport vehicles until additional arrangements are made. Confirming the decision, the Secretariat of Physical Infrastructure Minister said the circular is official and clarified that no new vehicles can currently be registered for public transportation purposes.
