World Meteorological Organization Warns of Rising Air Pollution Risk Due to Wildfires and Extreme Heat

Kathmandu. The World Meteorological Organization has stated that the risk of air pollution is increasing due to wildfires and extreme heat. The annual 'Air Quality and Climate Bulletin' published by the organization mentions a deep relationship between air pollution and climate change.

Due to climate change, the frequency and intensity of extreme heat and wildfires are increasing, posing further threats to human health and the natural environment. Smoke from wildfires contains fine particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers. Such particles can reach deep into the lungs and even enter the circulatory system, making them extremely risky for health.
