Industry Department Directs Industries to Comply with Environmental Standards for Sirsiya River Pollution

Kathmandu. The Department of Industry has directed industries polluting the Sirsiya River to fully comply with environmental standards and conditions. On Monday, in a discussion with industrialists and businessmen around the Sirsiya River, Director General Jitendra Basnet made it clear that the practice of discharging polluted substances directly into the river from industries will no longer be acceptable.

Director General Basnet stated that both the state and industrialists must be equally responsible for solving the Sirsiya River pollution problem, which has been a recurring issue for the past decade.
