Solukhumbu Administration Office Bans Nighttime Traffic on Salme Section Due to Landslide Risk

Solukhumbu. The District Administration Office has banned vehicular movement during nighttime due to high risk of landslides in the Salme section of the Siddicharan Highway in Solukhumbu. Issuing a notice on Monday, the District Administration Office, Solukhumbu, stated that the road will be completely closed from 6 PM to 5 AM daily starting today until further notice in the Salme section located in Ward No. 11 of Solu Dudhkunda Municipality.

The administration office stated that landslides have occurred in the said location, blocking the road, and the risk of continuous landslides still remains. Currently, only one-way traffic is being operated on this road section. Assistant Chief District Officer Devendra Subedi informed that movement of pedestrians and all vehicles has been banned during the night to avoid further risk.
