Police Buildings and Vehicles Damaged During Gen Z Protests Reconstructed

Kathmandu. A year ago, during the Gen Z movement, police barracks and office buildings in 15 districts including Kathmandu Valley were set on fire by protesters.

Last year on Bhadra 23, during the protest by youth of Gen Z age group, the then government used excessive force through the police, causing the death of a large number of youths. The protest became violent on Bhadra 24 after peaceful protesters were brutally suppressed and shot at. During that time, 459 police office buildings and barracks were damaged due to arson. Of these, 143 were completely damaged and 316 buildings were partially damaged.
