Today, 'World Cities Day 2021' is being celebrated with various programs all over the world. There have been no formal events in the world in the last few years due to the devastation and spread of the COVID. Although the world is slowly becoming normal in 2021, 2021 World Urbanization Day is being celebrated among various forums and virtual seminars as well as many other physical events. The month of Urban October will end, as always, this year with worldwide celebrations of World Cities Day on 31 October. The main Global Observance will be co-hosted by UN-Habitat and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and will take place in Luxor.
The first Cities Day was celebrated on October 31, 2014. World Urbanization Day 2021 is the eighth edition. The month of October is called Urban October, the last day of October is celebrated as Cities Day.
The slogan for Cities Day 2021 is Adapting Cities for Climate Resilience, this year focusing on the role of urbanization in climate change and the importance of systematic urbanization. Meaningful wishes on Cities Day.
