Former RPP Vice-Chairman Dilbikash Rajbhandari Demands Party Office Vacancy, Cites Financial Irregularities

Kathmandu. Former Vice-Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Dilbikash Rajbhandari has urged party Chairman Rajendra Lingden and the central committee to vacate the party's central office in Dhumbarahi through an open letter. In the letter, Rajbhandari accused Chairman Lingden of failing to effectively advance the party's ideology, the movement for the restoration of monarchy, and coordination among like-minded individuals. He claimed that the party's policy of taking action against honest leaders and workers has created a situation of factionalism, division, and split within the party. The letter mentions that RPP did not achieve expected results in the recent elections, with the bail forfeited for most candidates, and holds the party leadership primarily responsible for this. He also accused the leadership of arbitrarily selecting proportional candidates. Rajbhandari also questioned Chairman Lingden's financial sources. In the open letter, Rajbhandari stated that the Shashi Kala Smriti Bhawan in Dhumbarahi is his private property, which was provided free of charge for party operations, but due to a loss of faith in the leadership, the building must be vacated. He demanded the immediate return of Rs 3.5 million out of the Rs 4.5 million he provided during the 2079 elections, of which only Rs 1 million has been returned. Alleging non-repayment of the amount, he stated that the party treasurer must also be held accountable for this matter. According to Rajbhandari, a 35-day notice has already been issued in the name of Prabha Luintel as part of the legal process to vacate the building. He expressed confidence that the central committee will make a just decision on this matter, warning that otherwise, the party leadership will be responsible for any unpleasant incidents that may occur in the future. This letter from Dilbikash has come out in the context of the RPP's central committee meeting starting today.
