Lalitpur to be Developed as 'Handicraft Capital'

Kathmandu. A new step is being taken to develop Lalitpur as 'Handicraft Capital' institutionally and legally. The policy and program for the upcoming financial year mentions that legal assurance will be provided to the 'Made in Craft City Lalitpur' logo to test the quality, certify, and ensure the international market identity of handicraft materials produced in Lalitpur Metropolis.

The policy and program includes conducting skill transfer programs to preserve traditional metal, wood, and stone art, as well as moving forward with the process of establishing a 'College of Art' for academic development in the handicraft sector.
