Building Landslide Anticipatory Action

Every monsoon season, landslides strike Nepal with devastating effects resulting in huge loss of lives, damage to properties, and disturbances to people’s livelihood. The hill collapses following heavy rainfall, a road gets blocked, homes get covered with mud and whole families lose their home. It is so frequent that it has become an accepted occurrence to live in Nepal’s mountains. But the casualties and losses from landslides every year prove that the situation is still a grave concern.
