Pokhara Metropolis Halts Demolition Drive for Firke River Structures

Pokhara. The Pokhara Metropolitan City drove bulldozers two months ago to demolish structures on the banks of the Firke River. The aggressive metropolis has not yet demolished all those structures. With 55 structures remaining to be demolished, this campaign has now subsided.

Based on the 2080 BS measurement report, a total of 160 illegal structures were identified, out of which 105 temporary and some permanent structures have been demolished so far. However, about 55 permanent and institutional structures falling within the river's flow area are yet to be demolished. People have not vacated some of the demolished houses.
