Old Video Falsely Shared as Home Minister’s Resignation Statement Amid Terai Tensions

Kathmandu. A video circulating on social media claiming that Home Minister Sudhan Gurung is preparing to resign amid communal tensions in the Terai has been found to be misleading, with fact-checking showing that the clip is nearly a year old.

The viral video, which has been widely shared in connection with recent unrest in Sunsari and other districts of Madhesh Province, is actually taken from a longer video posted by Gurung on September 20, 2025.
