Kathmandu. CPN (UML) Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged to carry forward the legacy of the peasant movement advanced by the pioneer of Nepal's communist movement and peasant movement, Tulsilal Amatya, and the martyred leader Bhimdatta Pant. Oli made this appeal today in a condolence message on the occasion of the death anniversaries of Amatya and Pant.
Chairman Oli recalled the significant contribution of Tulsilal Amatya, who was elected General Secretary from the third general convention of the Communist Party of Nepal, in strengthening the peasant movement in Nepal ideologically and organizationally. Oli mentioned that during the time of feudal land ownership, Amatya inspired farmers to organize for their rights and entitlements with the slogan 'Whose is the plow, his is the land'. Oli stated that Amatya's role in the struggle against absolutism and the leftist movement will always be remembered in the political history of Nepal.
