Nepal's Tiger Population Rises to 429, Concentrated in Riverine Areas

Kathmandu. In Nepal, tigers are relatively more numerous in riverine areas. According to the 'National Tiger Survey, 2082', the number of tigers has been found to be highest around the Rapti river basin in Chitwan and the Karnali river basin in Bardia.

The number of tigers is higher in riverine areas and comparatively less in forest areas with human activity, informed Hari Bhadra Acharya, Senior Ecologist at the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation.
