Political Instability Grips Sudurpashchim and Madhesh Province Governments Post-2079 Elections

Kathmandu. Sudurpashchim Province government and Madhesh Province government, which were identified by political stability, have fallen into a vicious cycle of instability after the 2079 elections. After the federal democratic republic constitution was made on Ashoj 3, 2072, the first provincial assembly elections were held in 2074. At that time, the left-wing alliance between CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) had won a majority of seats in all provinces except Madhesh Province.
After the division of 6 provinces post-election, UML led the governments of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Maoist Center led the governments of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. After the fall of the KP Oli-led government in Ashadh 2078, while the governments of 5 other provinces became unstable, Madhesh and Sudurpashchim established a precedent by sustaining their governments for all five years.
