Narayani River Embankment Erosion Worries Susta Residents

Nawalparasi. Locals are worried as the embankment constructed over the Narayani River in Susta, West Nawalparasi, has started to erode. The embankment was built with the objective of preventing Narayani River water from entering the settlement in Susta Rural Municipality-5.

As the high flow of the river has started eroding the embankment, locals are constructing temporary embankments to save Susta. Ravindra Jaiswal, spokesperson for the 'Save Susta Campaign', stated that the embankment was constructed with the active participation of locals to save the settlement from erosion and flooding, and erosion began last night due to the high flow of the river.
