West Nawalparasi. Locals and security personnel in West Nawalparasi are engaged in building a temporary embankment through collective labor to save Susta's land. As the water level in the Narayani River rises, increasing the risk of flooding and erosion in villages, locals are filling sacks with sand and soil and placing them on the riverbank to build a temporary dam, preventing water from entering settlements.
Since Wednesday, locals, the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and the Armed Police have been collectively working on constructing the embankment in the area from Susta Tharu Tole of Susta Rural Municipality-5 to the Siml tree, known as the border area. Efforts are being made to control the river's flow by filling sacks with sand and tying them with nylon ropes.
