Foreign Ministry Building Construction to Begin Next Fiscal Year

Kathmandu. Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has stated that the construction of the Foreign Ministry's own building will begin from the next fiscal year. Responding to oral questions from members of parliament in the Federal Parliament today, he informed that preliminary work for this has already started.
According to Foreign Minister Khanal, preparations are underway to construct the Foreign Ministry building on the land currently occupied by the Home Ministry. He stated that consultants have been selected for the building's 'architectural drawing', 'design', and engineering-related tasks, and a preliminary 'design' has also been prepared. Minister Khanal said, "The architectural drawing and design of the building are under discussion at the ministry and are in the approval stage." According to him, 50 crore rupees have been allocated in the budget for the construction of the Foreign Ministry's own building in the fiscal year 2083/84. He informed that a construction tender will be called in the next fiscal year to commence construction.
