Federal Parliament Building Construction Nears Seven Years Without Completion

Kathmandu. The construction work of the Federal Parliament Building being built in Putali Garden, Singhdarbar, has not been completed even after seven years. The construction work, which was supposed to be completed in October 2079 BS, has not been completed despite being extended six times. The work is now in the final stage and has slowed down.

The construction entrepreneur has submitted an application to the Ministry of Urban Development and Building Construction Department for the seventh extension of the deadline for building construction. Roshan Shrestha, Director of the Special Building Construction Project of the Department, said that the deadline has not been extended as all documents have not been received. He said, 'An application has been received for the extension of the deadline. The deadline has not been extended yet. Other documents including insurance have not been received.'
