Energy Infra In Madhes

Endowed with vast fertile land that aptly gives it a moniker of 'bread basket of Nepal,' Madhes Province holds immense potential for industrial development. However, the lack of one infrastructure that underpins virtually all development endeavours has long held it back and kept the potential untapped: energy infrastructure. Despite being rich in social and cultural heritage, the province fares poorly in the Human Development Index because of low scores in literacy and gender development indicators. Rampant corruption, especially in public offices, means availing oneself of many basic municipal services is a struggle. With low education level, many of its youths find it hard to find decent jobs that align with their aspirations.
