EV Battery Registration and Tracking System Needed in Nepal, Says Official

Kathmandu. Suresh Shrestha, chief of the vehicle testing office, has said that a system for registering and tracking batteries used in electric vehicles should be created in Nepal to manage them.

Speaking at a dialogue on 'Battery Recycling and Ethanol Blending in Fuel' organized by the Nepal Automobiles Importers and Manufacturers Association (NIIMA) on Friday, he stated that since only EV chassis numbers and motor numbers are currently registered in Nepal, a system for registering batteries should also be implemented.
