Nepali Congress Leader Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat Claims Party's Soul Resides in National Gathering, Not Headquarters

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has stated that only the body is present at the Nepali Congress's official headquarters in Sanepa, but the true soul of Congress is present at the national gathering. Speaking at the inaugural session of the national gathering organized by the dissenting group in Kathmandu, Dr. Mahat accused the leadership that emerged from the special general convention of not wanting unity in the party.

Mahat claimed that the leadership favoring the special general convention could not accept the large number of leaders and cadres participating in the national gathering. 'The leadership that came from the special general convention does not want unity in the party,' he said, 'They do not want the leaders and cadres who have come to this national gathering, which is why talks and dialogues held repeatedly could not reach an agreement.'
