Supreme Court Issues Show Cause Order for Mandatory CCTV Installation in Police Stations and Holding Cells

Kathmandu. A writ petition demanding the mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in police offices and holding cells across Nepal has resulted in the Supreme Court issuing a 'show cause order' in the name of the government.

A single bench of Justice Balkrishna Dhakal, after an initial hearing on the writ, issued a show cause order in the name of the respondents. Furthermore, considering the seriousness of the matter, the court has also ordered that this case be heard with 'priority' (priority).
