Government Provides Up To NPR 5 Million Concessional Loan to Gen-Z Movement Martyrs' Families and Injured for Self-Employment

Kathmandu. The government has made arrangements to provide concessional loans of up to NPR 5 million for self-employment ventures to the martyrs' families and the injured of the Gen-Z movement. The Ministry of Finance issued the 'Concessional Loan Interest Subsidy (Second Amendment) Work Procedure, 2083' on Friday, making such arrangements. The Ministry stated that the work procedure has been amended using the authority granted by subsection (4) of section 65 of the Economic Procedure and Financial Accountability Act, 2076. The amended work procedure has added a self-employment venture loan facility targeted at the martyrs' families and the injured of the Gen-Z movement. An arrangement has been made to provide loans of up to NPR 5 million to the martyrs' families or the injured of the Gen-Z movement for such loans. According to the work procedure, the martyrs' families or the injured of the Gen-Z movement must be certified by the Government of Nepal or a body designated according to prevailing laws. It has been clarified that 'martyrs' families of the Gen-Z movement' refers to the husband, wife, son, daughter, father, or mother of a person who was martyred in the movement. Concessional loans for martyrs' families and the injured can be provided for operating self-employment ventures in agriculture and livestock business, cottage and small industries, service business, information technology-based business, tourism business, manufacturing industries, startup ventures, and other manufacturing and employment-generating businesses as specified by the Government of Nepal from time to time. Along with this, the government has expanded the scope of concessional loans with the objective of making the families affected by the Gen-Z movement and the injured economically strong through self-employment and entrepreneurship.
