Indonesia's Flores Island Hit by 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake, Five Dead

Indonesia. A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Indonesia's Flores Island on Saturday morning. Officials said at least five people died and significant physical damage occurred as buildings and houses collapsed due to the earthquake.

After the earthquake, Indonesian authorities issued a tsunami warning and urged residents of coastal areas to move to higher ground. The Meteorology, Climate and Geophysics Agency said the warning was lifted as no significant changes were observed in the sea level.
