Nepali Congress Faction Prepares for Statute Amendment to Modernize Party Structure

Kathmandu. The dissenting faction of the Nepali Congress is preparing to amend the statute to make the party's organizational structure and operational process timely, inclusive, and technology-friendly. Various strategic proposals have been put forward in the 'Concept Paper for Amendment of Nepali Congress Statute' presented at the national gathering to make the party more efficient, dynamic, and accountable to the public. The concept paper, presented by Ramesh Lekhak, coordinator of the Law and Statute Committee, particularly emphasizes strengthening internal democracy, representation of youth and experts, and making the candidate selection process transparent.
Lekhak has recalled that the Nepali Congress, guided by the ideology of nationalism, democracy, and socialism since its inception, has played a leading role in protecting civil liberties and fundamental rights. Discussing the party's role in historical turning points from the epoch-making change of 2007 BS to the establishment of the Federal Democratic Republic, he pointed out the need to transform the party's structures according to the demands of the modern era.
