France's Supreme Court Overturns Ban on Social Media for Under-15s

Paris. France's Supreme Court has overturned a new law banning children under 15 from using social media. The court stated that the ban unduly interfered with children's freedom of expression and communication.

If this law, passed by French MPs in July, had been implemented, France would have been the first European country to block children under 15 from social media. The law was introduced considering the negative impact social media can have on children's mental health.
