Islam Makhachev Defends UFC Welterweight Championship Against Ian Machado Garry

Kathmandu. Russia's Islam Makhachev has successfully defended the UFC Welterweight Championship title. He retained the title by defeating Ireland's Ian Machado Garry by unanimous decision.

In the main event of UFC 330 held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday night, Makhachev defeated Garry with scores of 49–46, 49–46, and 48–47. With this victory, Makhachev has set a record of 17 consecutive wins. He has also broken the record of 16 consecutive wins by UFC Hall of Famer Anderson Silva. Silva had won 16 consecutive fights from 2006 to 2013.
