Selection Process for Employees Provident Fund Administrator Nears End Amid Controversy

Kathmandu. The selection process for the vacant administrator post of the Employees Provident Fund has reached the final stage. The Fund's administrator selection and recommendation committee has completed processes including candidate presentations and interviews. The Fund will get a new administrator after the Council of Ministers makes a decision.

Along with the process of selecting a new administrator, legal and ethical questions have begun to arise regarding the preparation to appoint Jeevankumar Katwal, a joint administrator who is going on mandatory retirement in a few days, as administrator for five years. According to the notice published by the Ministry of Finance on July 13, five names were shortlisted for the post of administrator, with Katwal from Jhapa being number one.
