Senior Advocate Padmanath Sharma Paudel Honored for Five Decades of Legal Practice

Kathmandu. A name that grew up in the lap of Dhaulagiri and the whisper of Kaligandaki is Senior Advocate Padmanath Sharma Paudel. Born on March 25, 2000 BS as the son of Pandit Jagannath Upadhyay and Pawan Kumari Upadhyay in Ratamata, Baglung, Sharma is a shining star in Nepal's legal history and social service. Sharma is also a legal scholar honed by five decades of struggle. Just last week, the Nepal Bar Council honored Sharma for his five decades of continuous advocacy. Padmanath's public life began with the government service post of 'Mukhiya'. Taking on responsibility at a young age, he journeyed from Kharidar and Nayab Subba to Tax Officer. However, his self-respect and commitment to the rule of law became a challenge in his government service. While serving as a tax officer in Babarmahal, Kathmandu, he determined taxes for the King's personal physicians based on the law. No one dared to question them, but for Padmanath, no one was above the law.
That day, an employee's job ended, but a legal practitioner emerged.
