ITF Union Taekwondo President Don Dalton Visits Nepal, Conducts Training

Kathmandu. This week, the President of ITF Union Taekwondo, Senior Grandmaster Don Dalton, was on a visit to Nepal. Dalton, who holds the ninth dan black belt, the highest rank in martial arts, also provided training in the International Instructor Course (IIC) seminar. He trained 102 senior instructors and players selected from across the country for eight hours according to the ITF Taekwondo international curriculum. Dalton is currently the international president of the International Taekwondo Federation Union, which has more than 50 member countries. Dalton, who has been continuously teaching martial arts in Tralee, Ireland since 1985, conducts technical seminars and training sessions worldwide. This is an edited excerpt of an interview conducted by Ratopati correspondent Bikash Chapagain with Senior Grandmaster and ITF Union Taekwondo President Don Dalton, focusing on the technical level of Nepali instructors and players, the potential for Taekwondo development, preparation for international competition, instructor development, discipline, and integration with modern sports science.
