Myanmar's Yangon Reports Over 500 Hospitalized with Severe Diarrhea, 149 Cholera Cases Confirmed

More than 500 people have been hospitalized with severe diarrhea in Myanmar's largest city, Yangon, and about 150 have tested positive for the cholera virus, officials said on Monday.

Myanmar's infrastructure and health sector are in a weakened state after more than five years of civil war, which is estimated to have killed more than 100,000 people, and the economy is also stagnant.
