Road Reconstruction Begins in Kaski's Annapurna Rural Municipality After Flood Damage

Kaski. Reconstruction of the Birethanti-Ghandruk road section in Ward No. 8 of Annapurna Rural Municipality, Kaski, is set to begin today. Due to continuous rainfall, floods in the Modi River have washed away the road, disconnecting four wards of Annapurna Rural Municipality. Approximately 100 meters of blacktopped road in Birethanti have been washed away due to erosion by the Modi River. Floods and landslides have also caused physical damage in various areas of the rural municipality.

The Birethanti area has been particularly affected, while floods and landslides have also caused damage in surrounding areas like Chimrung and Haijung, according to the rural municipality. Damage to the main road has affected the daily commute of locals as well as tourism activities. Road structures have been damaged near the bridge in Birethanti, and in some places, the road has been completely washed away.
