Land Problem Resolution Committee Warns Against Extortion for Land Allotment

Kathmandu. The Land Problem Resolution Committee has stated that action will be taken according to the law against individuals who extort money by promising to provide land allotment slips to landless Dalits, landless squatters, and irregularly settled residents.

According to the committee, based on the applications collected from across the country, details of available land are entered into the information system and allotment slips are being distributed free of charge by the concerned local level. The committee has stated that the responsibility of identifying, verifying the applicant who received the allotment slip, and identifying the land to be provided lies with the local level.
