Russia Orders German Consulate in St. Petersburg to Close by September 18

Moscow. Russia has ordered the closure of Germany's consulate in St. Petersburg. Russia's Foreign Ministry told the consulate on Monday to cease its operations by September 18.

This step has been taken in retaliation after Germany closed two Russian diplomatic offices last week.
