Landslide-induced Flood Causes Devastation in Betrawati, Nuwakot

Kathmandu. A massive flood caused by a landslide in the Betrawati area of Nuwakot has caused great damage to life and property. Kushal Shrestha of Betrawati, Ward No. 10 of Bidur Municipality, said that although prior information was received, such a terrible flood was not imagined, and the locals lost everything in an instant.

Shrestha, currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center, said that the flood washed away houses and tall buildings in the settlement without a trace. According to Shrestha, after the flood, the Betrawati area became a heartbreaking scene with scattered dead bodies, wreckage of vehicles, and human body parts all over the riverbank. Shrestha has a leg injury.
