Weather Forecast: Monsoon Influence Across Nepal with Scattered Showers and Potential Heavy Rainfall

Kathmandu. Currently, the monsoon wind's influence is present across the country, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology stated. The monsoon trough line is currently around the average position. As a result, most parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, and the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces are generally cloudy, while the Terai regions of Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces have partly cloudy skies. Scattered thunderstorms with moderate rain are occurring in some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. Today afternoon, the country will generally be cloudy. Some places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and a few places in the mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience scattered thunderstorms with moderate rain. Many places in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and some places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience scattered thunderstorms with moderate rain. A few places in the Terai regions of Sudurpaschim province and some places in the remaining Terai regions may experience scattered thunderstorms with moderate rain. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces, and in the mountainous, hilly, and Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Tonight, the country will generally be cloudy. Some places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and a few places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience scattered thunderstorms with moderate rain. A few places in the Terai regions of the country may experience scattered thunderstorms with moderate rain. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, the Department stated.
