Lawmakers propose mandatory female representation on NRB board

KATHMANDU, July 8: Lawmakers have registered amendment proposals to the Nepal Rastra Bank (Third Amendment) Bill, 2026, seeking to make the appointment of at least one woman to the central bank's Board of Directors mandatory and to require one deputy governor to be recruited from outside the bank.
