Suspension Bridge Connects Kaushibot and Basbot in Myagdi

Myagdi. A suspension bridge connecting Kaushibot of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-7 and Basbot of Ward No. 4 has been constructed. The 303-meter-long suspension bridge over the Myagdi River has been constructed by the Suspension Bridge Division Kathmandu of the Federal Government. Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality Chairman Prem Prasad Pun informed that residents of Hilapokhari, Basbot, Khorbang, Solwang, Khara, Khamla, Chhahari, Khiwang, Siwang, Takam, and Kafaldada have benefited from this bridge. According to him, it has become easier for farmers in Basbot to market their banana production. The contract for the construction of the bridge was signed between Ramkrishna-Somras JV and the division for Rs 1 crore 64 lakh 15 thousand 254 in Ashad 2082 BS. The bridge was completed this month and has been opened for public use. The contract period was eighteen months. Construction company representative Pravin Sapkota said that the bridge was completed within the stipulated time. Rajkumar Koirala of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-7 said that the bridge is expected to shorten travel time and develop into a tourist destination. He stated that a one-hour journey has been reduced to five minutes. Two suspension bridges longer than three hundred meters were constructed in Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality last year. A 365-meter-long suspension bridge over the Marangkhola river connecting Ghairibot of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-6 and Khuribang, and a 366-meter-long suspension bridge over the Darakhola river connecting Phaliagaun of Ward No. 3 and Dar were constructed. With this, the number of suspension bridges longer than three hundred meters in Myagdi has now reached seven. Bridges including a 365.80-meter-long bridge over the Begkhola connecting Beg of Raghu Ganga Rural Municipality-1 and Baduk, a 350-meter-long bridge connecting Bimwang of Malika Rural Municipality-7 and Rikh of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-6, a 388-meter-long bridge connecting Ratnechaur of Beni Municipality-1 and Kudule of Baglung Municipality-4, and a 344-meter-long bridge connecting Shikh of Annapurna Rural Municipality-5 and Kindu have already been constructed.
