CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet Vows Justice for 'Black Day'

Kathmandu. CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet has stated that impunity for crimes against the nation will not be acceptable. He also mentioned that he will remember September 24 last year, when an attack on the nation occurred, as a black day.

Posting a video of his house burning on social media, he wrote - 'On this day last year, state structures including Singha Durbar, Parliament House, and the Supreme Court were set ablaze. Government offices, private industries and businesses, and the properties of more than 400 citizens, including mine, were turned to ashes. A year has passed. Victims have not received justice, nor compensation, and no action has been taken against the perpetrators. Instead, the Balen government, formed on the foundation of that anarchy, has pushed the country further into uncertainty and ruin.'
