Hetauda. The Bagmati Province Assembly Secretariat has rejected the recommendation made by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) to dismiss its 4 MPs in the Bagmati Province Assembly. Deputy Speaker of the Province Assembly, Apsara Chaagagain, determining that the RPP's decision was contrary to legal procedures and the principles of natural justice, decided that they would not be dismissed.
With this, the Province Assembly membership of Uddhav Thapa, leader of the RPP Bagmati Province Parliamentary Party, along with MPs Raju Bist, Gir Bahadur Tamang, and Rajendra Prajapati, will remain as it is. According to Prakash Chaagagain, spokesperson and deputy secretary (law) of the Province Assembly Secretariat, upon studying the letters sent from the RPP central office to dismiss Thapa, Bist, Tamang, and Prajapati, it was found that the legal basis and procedure for action were insufficient.
