German Chancellor Cancels Call with Trump After Praising Far-Right Party

Kathmandu. A few hours after US President Donald Trump publicly praised the victory of Germany's far-right party 'AFD' in the regional elections, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz canceled the scheduled telephone conversation with Trump.

Merz's spokesperson refused to disclose the reason for canceling the talk. However, in response to a journalist's question, he clarified that it was not due to a scheduling problem. Trump had praised the party's victory on his social media platform 'Truth Social', calling it a 'truly great night' for the AFD.
