Nepal's Climate Justice Claim Needs Scientific Evidence

Nepal is a country severely affected by climate change. Although Nepal's contribution to global greenhouse gas emissions is very low, it is at high risk due to the impacts of climate change. The Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 3.0 presented by the Government of Nepal to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change also states that Nepal has been a negligible contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions in the past and present.

This fact makes Nepal's climate issue not just an environmental issue but also a matter of climate justice, the right to development, and international responsibility. Nepal's geographical diversity is the main basis of climate risk. The geographical structure from the Himalayas to the Chure, hills, and Terai makes the impacts of climate change felt in different ways.
